Newcomer Information
Who are we?
Capital Assembly of God church consists of a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds.
Is it just Sundays?
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us we have midweek care groups (a care group is simply a meeting of 10 or so meeting at the church). Care groups are a great way to get to know others in the church and to be real with each other about everyday living.

What to wear:
This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not.
What to expect:
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at Capital. First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. We start our meeting at 10 am with a few minutes of notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc, then we spend about 35 minutes worshipping. Our worship time consists of modern songs (with guitars, keyboards and drums). The pastor takes a stand at the pulpit and then we have a talk from the bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives. We finish our meeting around midday. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.
For those with disabilities:
We aim to be an all inclusive church. Our premises is accessible for those with disabilities. Our greeters are ready to meet for curbside assistance and/or we have reserved parking spaces near the entrance doors. Both the kitchen and toilets are accessible and prime seating is available in our main meeting room. We also have personal listening systems for the hearing impaired (please request one from a Greeter). If you wish to discuss specific needs, please contact the church office 587-6900.
When To Arrive:
If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 9:45am. You'll be greeted at the door by our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and guide you to your desired location.
If you have children, drop them off at our Nursery (Birth-3 years) or our K.I.D.S Church (Pre-school - 5th Grade) before the service located on the east side of the building.
After the service:
- Join us in Guest Central: Come meet the pastor and staff, learn more about the church and explore opportunities to get connected. Just ask a Greeter to direct you.
- Browse the Bookstore, located in the main entrance.
- P.S. Remember to pick up your children after the service!
